PAINTINGS

At last!
I have been telling myself to take photo's of my paintings... and just now, at last I did it!!
Is there anyone else out there who also finds it difficult to take nice pic's of your paintings. on camera everything look great....until I load the photo on my pc, suddenly is skew, blurry, or just too dark...i dunno....still trying to do it better.

I 'm also impressed with the latest paintings I had framed in last week at Welvanpas rame..Obie Prins. Think she is really great, and gave me very good advice.
Again....in real life my paintings look better!!!!

JAKHALSDANS - THEUNS JORDAAN

Net 'n mooi storie...in Afrikaans.
En terwyl ek nou na my liedjies van my blog luister....sal Theuns Jordaan nie "Tougher than the rest" uitstekend sing nie??
Sjoe...

E-Gallery

Last week I attened the formal opening of a new art Gallery in Wellington, E-Gallery
Else Spamer moved her with her family from Pothchefstroom and in a very short time she became very involved in our town and its people.
I hope, and I am sure, that her business is going to be very successful.
Because beautiful things should be seen by everyone....

ART WITH FOXTINA

So my friend Christina and I decided that from now on we will get together once a month. Go for a nice coffe somewhere, and then back to my house, to paint. I have more than enough room and I look forward just to sit down with a good friend, chatting, drinking coffee, listening to music, and painting!
Knowing that few hours is just ours. We can and will only concentrate on the canvass in front of us, and create beautiful things.
Christina , if you are reading this post, what about this Saturday for our first "session"!!!!

DRAKENSTEIN ART SOCIETY

So after two years it ended for me. A new committee was chosen and I cannot wait to see what they are planning. I would have loved to go on, but unfortuntely I have to prioritise between everything else. I am almost finished with my Bcom Tourism degree through UNISA, I want to concentrate more on my own paintings, I have a full time job, and I want to start playing guitar again. So, time is a problem for me! Trying to fit everything in! But isn't it a problem for everyone,...never having enough of it...
The last workshop we had was also our AGM, afterwards we had a demonstration of RAKU done by Desiree Malan, contemporary artist from Wellington. Attached are some photos of the burning process, taken by my friend Christina Vosloo. These dancing ladies were definitely the hit of the evening!!

Any Given Sunset

A sunset is always the most beautiful thing, and by now I have probably taken hundreds of photos, the next one just more precious than the previous one. How amazing that I can believe in a God that created something so beautiful for me to see every single day. Sometimes I have to wonder how it is possible not to believe in God...and secondly how some people can not believe in anything at all. Is it really possible to believe that there is not something more powerful and almighty than a human being? Seeing that a human being is so very fragile. One minute standing right there, only to be taken from you in an instant. Life happens so quickly, and you realise that you really are nothing. You can lose everything in an instant. Only later, everything makes sense. That everything happens for a reason. So again my question. How can there not be a power greater than us at work, in setting our paths so very carefully....and giving us the most beautiful ends to a long day...

KARAOKE

So Easter Weekend we went to our Langebaan house, that's me , my sister, Charl and my friend Adriette. She bought along her playstation sing-a -long...and boy oh boy...did we have fun!!!
I sung on ABBA, and for a minute thought I was Aretha Franklin..I , We, had an amazing time...
